Project

Panorama Buitenplaats Leukermeer

The point where Leukermeer and Strandbad Seurenheide almost meet, is marked by the new pavilion Panorama Buitenplaats. This spot will be a clear benchmark in the area. The different landscape types are strategically staged. The path for cyclists and hikers will be shifted to accommodate the pavilion. The new winding route slows down the passerby and gives them a series of surprising new spectacular views of water and land. Here you are invited to pause.

The beach slopes up into the open heart of the circular outdoor courtyard. The open generous roof structure provides shelter from sun, wind and rain. It provides a place for hospitality and beach facilities and creates flexible open space for many uses. As a frame, it emphasises the wonderful vistas. Beach visitors, water sports enthusiasts and passers-by gather here all year round for snacks, drinks and for the ever-changing activities under the open roof. The structure will be energy-neutral, circular and emission-free. It will be built nitrogen-free from sustainable biobased materials, fully reusable, lightweight and as prefabricated as possible.
