Geldrop’s Groene Hart
Our ambition for Geldrop was to create an affordable, sustainable, healthy, and lively residential environment that, with its green heart, also serves as a connecting link between neighboring identities. The existing situation offered a great diversity of spatial possibilities, so we took this as the starting point for the peripheral development.
The new situation created a green core with hidden qualities. Bicycle and walking connections were established between the core and the surrounding area. Houses were strategically placed, with the notion of “living by the park” and in the green heart as focal points. To enhance livability, separate parking facilities were created, keeping Geldrop’s green heart car-free. This resulted in exceptional living in a healthy village center, where residents can enjoy green surroundings and a vibrant community. Geldrop’s Green Heart is not just a residential environment but a livable and sustainable community that fosters a connection between people and nature.
